Do you take damage from attacking a survivor if you lose combat, I assume yes but it doesn't state it in the rules.
Yep. You take damage anytime you lose combat that's on the same space. You treat it as combat with another player as stated in the rules.

If I go into another player's house and choose not to fight, do we have to fight?

You lose control immediately.

Can I let another player come to one of my controlled houses and let him use my houses special ability?
Nope. No one can use the special ability but the player who controls the house. Although that would be darn nice of you. ;o)

If I enter a house and kill the survivor that is protecting it, do I have to tear down all remaining barricades in order to claim the house?
No. In order to claim a house, you must play a survivor or a barricade at that location. You may add a barricade to the ones that are currently there. The other player retains control of the house until all the barricades are torn down or you play an additional barricade or survivor.

If you want to store cards in a house, and someone else has already stored cards there, do you add your cards to theirs, or start a new pile? Or can you only store cards in a house you occupy _and_ control?
You can only store cards in a house that you control. If another person has lost control of the house, their cards are added to the other cards in the house. Then you can store your cards.

If a player dies, how do I claim their houses?
Same way as usual, by playing a survivor or a barricade at that location. You must fight any survivor that is still there though.

If a player dies, do they still count up their victory points at the end? can they control zombies at the end of their turn? What happens to their barricades, houses, survivors, cards and/or weapons?
Nope. They have to survive in order to be able to win. When they die, the barricades stay up, survivors stay where they are with the weapons they possess and will still protect their location.
