Twilight Creations at San Diego Comic Con July 23-27
We will be attending San Diego Comic Con for the first time ever. We will be set up at the Margaret Weis Productions booth (booth #4914).
We will have limited copies of Humans!!! along with our other products of course. We will hopefully be running some games in the gaming room as well.
We hope to see you there!!!

Sorry for the delay once again. We were busy finalizing Bump In The Night. Now that is at the manufacturer, we can get on to other business... like contests.

Hey Folks,
First, the winner of the "Name the Clown" Contest is: Kevin Shaud with the name Zombo the Clown who had a very unfortunate accident with a lion. Congrats Kevin.
Now for June's contest. Create a scenario using all Zombies!!! expansions that will last no longer than 2 hours. The game must end naturally and not by a time limit. Please include card list for the event deck as well. All cards and tiles do not need to be used. Send all entries to kerry.b@fuse.net. All entries become the property of Twilight Creations. Yep, it's the beginning of the month again and yep, we're behind with stuff. Stupid taxes...
First, we'd like to announce the winners to the February scenario contest:

April Contest: As you may know, Zombies 7 is a carnival setting. The set will contain zombie clowns, in one pose. The contest for this month will be: Name the clown in Zombies 7 and give us a brief background into his life/death/undeath. It must be less than 500 words and must make us laugh. First, the happenings at Twilight Creations. Innsmouth Escape, Zombietown 2: Road Rage and Zombies 4 Second Edition are shipping to distribution today and tomorrow (3-6 and 3-7).
We have completed Zombies 7: Send in the Clowns, which is now at the manufacturer. The zombie clowns are awesome. We are hoping it will be available in May.
Humans!!! is near completion and should be sent out to the manufacturer next week. We are very excited about this game. It has added a whole new dimension to the Zombies!!! line.
Now, on to our March contest: Make a short story using at least five of the cards from Zombies 2: Zombie Corps(e) that should be mentioned by name. The story may not include any of the other expansions or base set. The stories should be longer than 500 words but shorter than 1,000. Grammar and spelling have minimal but some impact on judgement. Limit one entry per person please! Send your stories to: kerry.b@fuse.net. The contest will end on March 31st at 11:59 pm eastern time. The winner will be announced in April.

We thought we would update you all monthly on the happenings here at Twilight Creations since we have so much going on. This will include the monthly contest.
First, the January contest has concluded and the winner will be announced by Friday. Thanks all for the entries. We had quite a few.
The 12 Months of Twilight - February contest is as follows: Design a scenario for Zombies!!! and/or expansions in which the game will last one hour or less. Rules may be modified including the board being partially or totally preset. Here's the twist - There must be a theme/plot to the scenario. An example might be: Skateboarders vs Zombies - Everyone starts in the sporting goods store with a Skateboard (don't need to have a card in front of them but always considered to have a skateboard). As a group, they must get to the Helipad in less than an hour, before the helicopter takes off. Entries are due February 29th 11:59 pm eastern time. All scenarios are considered property of Twilight Creations with credit given to the creator. One entry per person. Winner will receive Zombies!!! Second Edition plus the Zombies!!! second edition compatible expansions (Zombies 2, 3, 3.5, 4 and 6). Winners will be announced by March 7th.
On to further news: We are expecting another shipment of Zombies!!! Second Edition (we've been sold out for a couple weeks now) along with Zombies 2 Second Edition (we've been sold out for over a month) next week. If you haven't been able to find these, you will soon.
We also received notification that Innsmouth Escape, Zombietown 2 and Zombies 4 Second Edition will arrive to our warehouse in early March. We just received our sample copies, and they look awesome. We will have more pictures of Innsmouth Escape on our website soon.
We are currently finishing up Zombies 7: Send in the Clowns and are continuing to work on Humans!!! Zombies 7 should be released in May and Humans!!! in June. We will have some preview material on those two games soon.
There is still work being done to our online store. We are not able to currently automatically calculate shipping on international orders. They can be placed, but the postage will be determined manually. As we've done in the past, we charge exact US postal rates.
Also, February 21-24 Twilight Creations will be attending the Texas Frightmare Weekend in Dallas, TX. If you are in the area, feel free to drop in and say hello. We will have previews of our upcoming products along with a full line of our current games.

Just wanted to share this email with you. Over the summer and fall, my good friend Keith needed a heart transplant. He was pretty much tethered to the bed with tubes in his neck. To kill the time while waiting for a donor, we played endless hours of your fantastic game.

For Immediate Release: Twilight Creations, Cold Spring, KY, is pleased to announce that as of October 31st, the Zombies!!! base game (TLC 2010) has sold over 100,000 copies. since its premier in October of 2001. This figure does not include the various translated versions of Zombies!!! or it’s multitude of expansions.
The Zombies!!! board game was designed by Todd Breitenstein as an employee of Journeyman Press, a division of the United States Playing Card Co. After Journeyman Press was dissolved in late 2001, Twilight Creations was founded and the Zombies!!! line was able to continue.
Since the inception of this simple but thematically intense board game, there have been six expansions released and another is currently in the design process. Zombies!!! has also been released in German, Spanish, French and Italian.
“Zombies!!! sales have continued to increase year after year with no evidence of slowing down, “ says Kerry Breitenstein, VP of Twilight Creations. “We have a hard time keeping the game in stock, with some print runs selling out in less than 3 months.”
Fans of the game have included many well known figures including Max Brooks, Wil Wheaton, special effects master Greg Nicotero, former NFL player Doug Brzezinski, heavy metal band Black Lung and many others.
As a thank you for the support of the fans, Twilight Creations will be launching “The Twelve Months of Zombies” contest. On the 1st of each month in 2008, a new contest will be announced and the winner will receive a copy of the Zombies!!! base game and all of the expansions. The winners will also have the opportunity to design a card for an upcoming Zombies!!! expansion.
Also in 2008, along with a carnival expansion for Zombies!!!, Twilight Creations will be releasing Humans!!! This game will be similar to the Zombies!!! game except the players are the zombies trying to infect as many people as possible. There will be scenarios released with the game in which both the Humans!!! and Zombies!!! games can be played together.

Well Folks,
It’s been a long and tough year here at Twilight Creations, but we are gearing up for next year and really looking forward to it.
We have just finished up Zombietown 2. This set will allow you to use cars and plow down some zombies You can also use them to barricade your house, but you need the right keys. Zombietown 2 also brings you hidden agendas where you are the only one who knows what you are up to. Speaking of Zombie town - We have sold through the first print run but have already received our second shipment, so there is no delay in getting the game out. It has been a well received game, and we are very excited about expanding the game.
Next month we are releasing MidEvil 3 where you are searching for the correct spells in the dungeon to finally get home. But beware, the wrong spells could make getting home a little harder.
Next month we are also finally releasing Zombies 6.66. The set didn’t make our last shipment We are expecting it to arrive the beginning of December though.
As far as next year, you all will be pleased. Here are some of the releases:
February: Zombietown 2
March: Innsmouth Escape - Cthulhu game where one little human is trying to stop the Deep Ones and whatever they summon. This is a very awesome game designed by Darrell Hardy.
March: Zombies 4 Second edition
April: Zombies 7 - The carnival has brought something nasty to town.
May/June: Good vs. Evil - A Reiner Knizia game. We’ve played this dozens of times and still want to play more…
July: Humans!!! - This time you are playing the zombies and trying to infect as many people in town as possible. This game will be able to be played with Zombies!!! - some players playing humans and some players playing zombies.
I think that’s enough info for now. We do have the schedule set for the rest of the year, but we don’t want to give too much info out right away.
Oh, and we have a press release coming out soon with some exciting information about Zombies!!!

It's been a trying few months here at Twilight Creations. With my dad's terminal illness and my nephew's death, we have been quite distracted. Everyone has been very understanding and patient with us, for which I wish to thank you. It means a lot to us - the support, the kind words, etc. We've always said that we have the best fans, friends and supporters around, and this just proved it once again. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You!
As things are settling down now, and we will not be away from the office until mid October, we will be able to catch up on everything. Look for information in the coming weeks regarding games and expansions for next year. We have a lot of exciting stuff on the horizon.

My nephew was missing for 11 days and his body was found on Wednesday night. Tony Beard Jr. was a very intelligent and talented young man who will be missed dearly. My sister and her family could use as many prayers as possible to get through this difficult time.

It's almost to you. Easter Island is shipping out to distribution this week and will be in stores starting next week.
Easter Island is a mysterious island in the South Pacific. Its inhabitants have long since vanished without a trace except for the giant Moai. These giant statues are so large and heavy that modern man has had a difficult time recreating them without modern tools. Tools the original inhabitants most certainly couldn’t possess.
This game speculates that the statues were, in fact, beam weapons created by two very powerful wizards. These
wizards used the statues in a giant game, with the island itself as the board.
You are now one of those wizards...
Easter Island lets you place your statues and move them into position. Then, when everything is ready, call upon the power of the Sun to topple your opponent’s statues and thus your opponent.
Each game Contains:
A full-color game board

A special program will be implemented at Gen Con to reward the person who is able to "master" the most Twilight Creations' games. It is a point based system, and for each Twilight event you participate in, you get one point plus 2 points if you win the event (winner of each event gets a separate prize as well). The person with the most points at the end of the convention wins Twilight For Life (a copy of all future Twilight Creations products). Information will be taken at each event, and the winner will be contacted within a week after the convention. See ya all soon!

Thanks to all who participated in the contest. We had quite a lot
of entries, some quite funny in fact. ;o)
No one had the mechanic exactly, but we were able to pick two whom
were close enough.
First, the answer:
Master Zombie - "When this card is played, all players must discard
all Event Cards from their hands. Cards in play are not affected."
Brutal? Absolutely. It can be countered with the card cancellers
though.
So, the only two people who's guess included the cards are:

The mechanic of the promo card has nothing to do with the Zombies in the game.

Being the cruel and sadistic people we are, it’s time for a contest.
We have skillfully (we have a rather loose definition of skill) created another promo card this year, which of course you can get from us at the conventions (after being subjected to humiliating tasks - or playing one of our games), by making purchases at our online store or playing in some nifty “approved” Twilight Creations’ event. Since this is the first mention of the card, you don’t know what it does - or do you?
The Rules: Guess the mechanic of the new promo card “Master Zombie.” It does not have to be the exact wording on the card, but it has to be the same mechanic. If no one guesses the exact mechanic, the person closest (judged by us) will win. One entry per person sent to killerkerry2001@yahoo.com. Please include your name and address with your entry. Wow, how time flies. Unfortunately, this write-up is running late. We’ve been busy catching things up since my trip to Southern California, including getting MidEvil 2 out to press. (a very cool set that redefines “screw” your neighbor), preparing for the release of Zombies 5 (don’t even get me started - too cool) as well as finalizing our convention and release schedules for next year (ooh, what a year it’s gonna be).
Back to the topic at hand, GenCon SoCal was an absolutely fabulous show for Twilight Creations. I had a great time talking to people there, meeting new people, hanging out with some old friends, etc. Our events were well attended and seemed to go over very well.
I was thrilled with the turnout for the 1st Annual Brian Young Memorial Zombies!!! Game. You can see a write-up about this special tournament here: http://theminiaturespage.com/profiles/?id=114001. It was put on by Liz Baker, Robin (hot pants) Baker and the hottest chick in the paint and take, Pyrogal. After much sugar, caffeine, laps around the hall, two winners arose from the chaos - Anthony Wong and Scott Van Essen. Check out the pictures posted in the community section of our website. This tournament was run by a fantastically awesome group of people whom I had a pleasure of spending some time with.

As of December 30, 2005, Twilight Creations, Inc. will no longer be selling “The Most Dangerous Game”, expansion for “When Darkness Comes…” This expansion is based on Alderac Entertainment Group’s Spycraft property.
The “WDC“ game line remains a viable and potent property as is evident by the continued strong sales of “WDC” base set and other expansions (“The Horror Within”, “Hell Unleashed”, “The Darkness Before The Dawn”, “This Is Not Happening” and “The Nameless Mist”). The sales for these will continue on as usual.

All participants of this event will be able to put their name in the "hat" for the raffle as well.

MidEvil is on its way from China and should be ready to ship in a few weeks. That being said, how about some additional details?
First off, MidEvil IS NOT a Zombies!!! expansion. MidEvil is a standalone game and is not (directly) compatible with Zombies!!!. However, the loose storyline and the basic mechanics are based on Zombies!!!
So, what have we changed? First, instead of zombies, the players are fighting skeletons in MidEvil. We have assigned point values to the skeletons (they are three different colors) and the dead skeletons are used as a commodity. What this means is that players now use the skeletons to buy weapons and events from their hands instead of having to find them in particular locations. The point system also allowed us to create ranged weapons such as bows that have a use cost associated with them.
Storywise, the "whole new set of problems" the players face is a result of Zombies!!! 4. In "4" the players attempted to stop the zombie invasion by getting to the cabin and performing the counter spell. Unfortunately, the spell transports the players back in time. This is the point where MidEvil begins.
All in all, MidEvil incorporates some things such as player vs. player combat that the fans have always wanted. We think players will be extremely happy with this game. We also expect that a rabid Zombies!!! fan will figure out how to combine Zombies!!! and MidEvil pretty quickly.

Let me say a couple things first:We received a whole bunch of entries for this contest. It was wonderful to see. I was very impressed with them, and we more than likely will be using a few of them at the conventions this Summer.
And I have to say, Wow!!!! Some of you put a tremendous amount of work into your entry. Some too much for what we were looking for, unfortunately.
What we looked for in the winner was: Simplicity, games that will last less than 3 hours, rules that will keep the players from getting bored waiting for their turn (more than one player taking their turn at a time), etc.
Some of the entries make a *really* good six player game but not a 12. I encourage everyone to try some of these out. They are awesome!
Anyway, the winner of the contest is: Zombies!!! Fiesta For The Copter by Jay Cockrell.
Congratulations!!! If everyone who entered the contest can please send me your mailing address. I will send something to each of you. Thank you so much for the support, time and effort you all put into this contest.

For those of you wanting to play in the world championship at Origins, the rules are as follows:
- Zombies!!! plus Zombies 2 or Zombies 3 will be used, so prepare for both.
- At least 50 card deck with no more than 2 copies of each card except for the restricted cards.
- Only one copy of each restricted card is permitted. They are: The Keys Are Still In It, Zombie Master, We're Screwed, Bad Sense of Direction, Alternate Food Source and Minefield.
- Once a player runs out of cards, they may NOT reshuffle.
- Once a helipad is revealed, players roll 2d6 for movement.
- There will be two rounds. Play continues until two players make it to a helipad in the first round. The top two players from each game in the first round will move on to the finals.
The winner will receive a signed copy of MidEvil BEFORE it is released as well as will have their image on a zombies card in the next set. We may have the copy of MidEvil at the show. If not, it will be sent to the winner soon thereafter.

The Rules: Create a ruleset for a 12 player game of Zombies!!! Any and all expansions may be used. The rules must be complete, including set-up, game play and winning conditions. The game must, in theory, run less than 3 hours (playtesting encouraged!)The Deadline: June 1st, 2005.
Prizes: The winner will receive a signed copy of MidEvil before it is released to the general public. Runners up will receive prizes chosen especially for them. Promo cards will be sent out to participants while supplies last.

The Nameless Mist is the newest expansion for the When Darkness Comes. roleplaying board game. It dives headlong into the world of H.P. Lovecraft, and features the Outer God, Nyarlathotep, in many of his different forms.
This set contains a variety of new ally, item, cultist and adversary disks plus four new tiles which together, make up Miskatonic University. Using these new components and an assortment of tiles and disks from the original set, players can play one of the six exciting scenarios and an in-depth, GM-run campaign.
The stories themselves are written by some well-known industry names - Les Simpson, Robert Defendi, Frank Russell, Patrick Kapera and Todd Breitenstein. The all new illustrations are once again masterfully rendered by David Aikins. Look for it soon at your FLGS!

Twilight Creations of Cold Spring, KY is pleased to announce that they have entered an agreement with United States Playing Card Co. of Cincinnati, OH to purchase the Zombies!!! License outright, including all ancillary marks and copyrights. This agreement will allow Twilight Creations to pursue a wide array of licensing agreements including translations.
Zombies!!! was created by Todd Breitenstein while working for Journeyman Press, a division of the United States Playing Card Company. After Journeyman Press was dissolved, Todd and Kerry Breitenstein started Twilight Creations in January of 2002 and licensed Zombies!!! from the United States Playing Card Company in March of 2002. Since that time, Twilight Creations has come out with four expansions and two versions of the BagOZombies, all of which have been hugely successful.
“It is gratifying to finally have the opportunity to take charge of something that we created. We would like to thank the United States Playing Card Company for this opportunity,” said Todd Breitenstein, President of Twilight Creations.

After many trials and tribulations, much teeth gnashing and gallons of blood, sweat and tears, the silliest game ever made is finally available at a friendly game store near you. But if it's not, you should demand that they order several copies - one for you, and one for the teeming hordes that are sure to be arriving at their door any momement now - or something like that. LOL.
In all seriousness, the game was a huge hit at Spiel in Essen this past October. People really seemed to enjoy the game with much pointing and laughing - in a good way. 150,000 Germans can't be wrong. Be sure to get your copy today!

Twilight Creations is pleased to announce the addition of several very special guests of honor to the Carnival of the Damned party at the Origins Game Fair in Columbus Ohio. Thanks to Howling Wolf Studios, several cast members and effects artists from “Dawn of the Dead,” “Dead and Rotting” and the “Evil Dead” movies will be attending the party. Scheduled guests include:Clayton Hill - Best known as the Escalator Zombie and Sweater Zombie from “Dawn of the Dead,” Clayton was also director’s assistant and weapons coordinator for the movie. He also had a speaking role in the movie “Hellraiser 3.”
Sharon Ceccitti-Hill - Sharon’s image as the Zombie Nurse has become almost ubiquitous in connection with “Dawn of the Dead.” Her image has appeared on dozens of products from the movie. She has also had a successful career as a casting director.
Lenny Lies - Best known as the Machete Zombie, Lenny is currently in preproduction on his own zombie movie titled “Reign of the Dead.”
G. Joe Shelby - Joe played the head of the biker gang in “Dawn of the Dead.”
And possibly appearing:
Tom Sullivan - Special Effects Director of the “Evil Dead” as well as an effects contributor to all three “Evil Dead” movies.

As we have already announced, the Carnival of the Damned is Twilight Creations’ annual party held at the Origins Game Fair in Columbus Ohio. This year it will be a bigger and better Zombies party as we have a number of very cool zombies people involved. This year’s event will be co-hosted by Eden Studios, Midnight Syndicate, Twilight Creations, Z-Man Games and Howling Wolf Studios. We once again are playing for zombies with games from all of the sponsoring companies (and some music from Midnight Syndicate) as well as poker, blackjack and whatever silly carnival games we come up with. As I am sure almost all of you know, "Zombies!!!4: The End" is about to be unleashed on the world. Actually, we are in the process of shipping it to distribution so that everyone has it in plenty of time for the official sell date of June, 26.
In order to help promote the release of Zombies!!! 4, we have printed a limited number of both posters and promo cards. We are making these items available on a first come basis for all stores who run release events on the 26th.
The poster is an 11 X 17 inch version of the Zombies!!! 4 cover with additional verbiage commemorating the release event. These posters are very cool and are suitable for framing.
The promo cards are the long rumored "Zombies, Yo!" card. We announced these a while ago, but this will be the first chance for the end consumer to get ahold of them. The card itself is extremely nasty and will be an invaluable addition to any Zombies!!! player that uses the custom deck building rules. It will also be a lot of fun in any Zombies!!! game.

It's time for another contest, and what would be better than one for our next release - The Haunting House?
Since we know that you folks have nothing better to do in this holiday season, this contest will have you racking your brain for that ONE really good Haunting House story.
Here's the gist: Write a story about a haunted house, real or fiction. Describe your experience in a haunted house or if that wasn't scary enough, make up your own. Scare us - and that's not easy to do.
The story needs to be about 1,000 words. The deadline is January 1, 2004. Only one entry per person. Many will enter, one will win. The top 3-5 stories will be posted on the website the week before the release of The Haunting House. Have some fun with it! Oh, the prize will be a copy of The Haunting House before anybody else gets it.

SPIEL '03: I first want to thank everybody we met at Essen Spiel '03. It was an awesome show, and we had an absolute blast! It was very cool to see the enthused reception of our games. Everybody we met was super cool, once again reinforcing the fact that we have the greatest fans in the world! It was our first time at this show, and next year we hope to do much more.
CONTESTS: We unfortunately did not get around to a Halloween contest with all the chaos at the Twilight Creations office, but I promise contests very soon for all!
UPCOMING RELEASES: Just as a reminder of what we have coming up - Zombies 3.5 has been released and will hopefully make it to most of the stores by this weekend. Say What, which is a party game and a heck of a lot of fun to play (and a great Christmas gift for the gamer and non-gamer - just saying is all ;o)), will be releasing the end of November. The Haunting House game will be releasing in January. We will have previews and descriptions of
this game up on the website soon. I love this game, mostly because I keep winning. ;o)
CURRENT PROJECTS: We have feverishly been working on games, ones which will not disappoint you. The first is an expansion for When Darkness Comes, set in cyberspace/dreamworld. This takes the game in a whole different direction. It's absolutely awesome (and I'm not just saying that because I have to ;o)). The second thing we are working on is Zombies 4. Many of you have asked about it, so we will release some vague details. It will be
another box set that can be played on its own or with the original sets. It will be set in the woods, and there will be zombie dogs. That's all I'm telling you - so don't ask. ;o) The final game we are working on right now
is a game that has never been done before and is top secret, but we will be releasing details soon. It will launch at Origins in 2004, and it will launch BIG!
CONVENTIONS: I will be attending GenCon SoCal in December, running some events and booth sitting as usual. The winner of the events will keep the game. Along with the normally scheduled event, I will be forcing (I mean
allowing) people to play Say What (since it is a game that can be played while doing other things) with the winner keeping that game as well. We will also be extending our convention presence to some conventions we have yet to attend in addition to our normal ones. If there is a convention in your area (well attended since we are so understaffed right now), send on the details and I'll see what I can do. As of now, we will be attending:
Pittsburgh Comicon, Marcon (sci-fi convention in Columbus where we will be the guest of honors - so it'll be huge ;o)), Origins, Gamefest Milwaukee, GenCon Indy, Archon, Horrorfind, Spiel '04, GenCon SoCal '04 and possibly will have representation at Kublacon (hard to tell since it is the same weekend as Marcon). I'll release details about the conventions as I get them. The conventions over the Summer will be bigger and better as far as we are concerned. We are planning some absolutely huge things at Origins (cool giveaways and events), in addition to the Zombies party - so don't miss it. Art-boy Dave Aikins will be at the Motor-City Comic con next weekend (Oct-18-19) in Novi, Michigan, near Detroit. He'll be there with his buddy, fellow artist Andy Bennett (of Moonstone comics and When Darkness Comes/Spycraft fame).
Dave loves the Motor city shows, as Detroit is his hometown, and the guys who run the show are HUGE fans of Zombies! and all around swell fellas. If shipping luck prevails and he can get to the Twilight offices in time, he should have copies of Zombies 3.5 available.
It's really gonna be close, though, so don't bet the farm on it. He will have other stuff, and he'll hopefully be drawing til his arm falls off...

We have added our yearly shirt to the web store. This years shirt is very cool and features the Dante's Inferno cover on the front and a witty saying on the back. If you get a chance, check it out and buy a couple. They make the perfect gift for the Halloween season.

We are back from the Baltimore area where we attended the HorrorFind Weekend. This was our first horror related convention and we had an absolute blast. We met a lot of wonderful people and as the only game publisher there, we had really good response to all TLC products!
Among the highlights were meeting Alice Cooper and other celeb guests, the saturday night costume contest, hanging out with our friends from Midnight Syndicate, and talking to all our longtime and brand new fans. It was all very cool!!!
We also visited Edgar Allen Poe's home and grave which was just plain neat.
We have lots of pics and we will post them in the very near future.
Now...back to work!

Hi,
Just a note to let everyone know we will be out of the office for the rest of the week to attend the Origins Game Fair. Anyone in the Columbus, Ohio area should stop by and say hi. We have lots of cool stuff planned and will be demoing all our games.
This is also the show where they hand out the Origins Awards (gee..what were the odds...Hmmmm). Anyway, keep your fingers crossed for us on friday night. We know many of you voted for us and we appreciate it. Lets hope it pays off.

“The Most Dangerous Game” is an upcoming expansion for “When Darkness Comes…” set in the world of Spycraft. “When Darkness Comes…” is a roleplaying board game where each player creates/chooses a character and uses the character’s attributes in order to achieve objectives as determined in the individual scenarios.
“The Most Dangerous Game” is an expansion set in the smalltowns of Europe. It adds vehicles, chases, disguises and traps to the rules for “When Darkness Comes…”
In preparation for the GenCon release of “The Most Dangerous Game,” we are offering a chance to illustrate your spy fiction writing abilities. We are looking for a 1,000-1,500 word piece of fiction involving whatever you like but must end at “The Market.” The market is a tile in this set with 4 small shops and walkways to the shops. The story should end with something that still needs to be accomplished such as finding the mastermind, a certain item, etc. More specifically, the story should lead up to the objective for the scenario.
All entries and questions should be sent to kerry@twilightcreationsinc.com. The winner will be used to set up the scenarios for the special events at GenCon. The winner will receive “When Darkness Comes…” and all of its expansions, including “The Most Dangerous Game.” Deadline for entries is July 1, 2003. One entry per person. Many will enter and one will win.

Since we were unable to get events for The Most Dangerous Game listed at GenCon, we are running 4 special events at the Twilight Creations, Inc. booth. Each event will start 1/2 hour after the hall opens each day. Seating is limited to 6 per session, and everyone who participates will receive a copy of The Most Dangerous Game. The winner of the event will also receive a copy of When Darkness Comes.
You may sign up for the events anytime during the show at the Twilight Creations, Inc. booth. You may only sign up for one.
The event itself will show you how to play the game and will run the scenario created from the fiction contest piece.

I've been promising a contest, and I've finally found the time to put this together.
The contest: Scenario for When Darkness Comes... The Awakening.
This scenario will be used at some of the conventions this year and will not be posted until after the con season.
What we need:
We need a basic scenario in the format that has been presented so for, using the rules from When Darkness Comes...The Awakening only (do not include LOS rules, etc. from the expansions).
The scenario needs to have:
1. A brief background story - very brief.
2. Game objective.
3. Game Set-up.
4. Game Play and Special Rules.
5. Winning conditions.
The scenario needs to be completely fleshed out. We don't want to have to make "major" changes to it when we playtest it.
Theme: The scenario needs to have a horror theme and the ability to be played in about an hour. Must be different from any scenarios that have been published thusfar (you may bounce ideas of me prior to submitting the entry with no guarantee of a response).
Where to send entries: Submit all entries to kerry.b@fuse.net.
Deadline: 6/1/03 no matter the time zone. ;o)
Prize: You will receive a copy of all future game/expansion we (Twilight Creations, Inc.) release.
Legalities: All entries become the property of Twilight Creations, Inc. All entries will be posted on the website and any other media we desire with prior notification to the designer. Many will enter, one will win.

The Nameless Mist is the newest expansion for the When Darkness Comes. roleplaying board game. It dives headlong into the world of H.P. Lovecraft, and features the Outer God, Nyarlathotep, in many of his different forms.
This set contains a variety of new ally, item, cultist and adversary disks plus four new tiles which together, make up Miskatonic University. Using these new components and an assortment of tiles and disks from the original set, players can play one of the six exciting scenarios and an in-depth, GM-run campaign.
The stories themselves are written by some well-known industry names - Les Simpson, Robert Defendi, Frank Russell, Patrick Kapera and Todd Breitenstein. The all new illustrations are once again masterfully rendered by David Aikins. Look for it soon at your FLGS!
